• UtilPB handles the Powerball/Mega Millions/Thunderball type of lotto games (drawing 5 winning regular numbers plus one Powerball number).
• UtilEU applies to the Euromillions type of lotto games (drawing 5 winning regular numbers plus 2 Star numbers).
~ Current version for both applications: 13.5 ~ Rocktober 2007.

It is recommended to delete the Pick.INI files before running the utilities for the first time, or IF errors occur. Incorrect formats of the data files create also errors. Run PARSEL from time to time.
The programs, as many other programs created by Ion Parpaluck Saliu, are available as freeware from the software download site. Software categories: 5.1, 5.2 (lotto, lottery, utilities). They call me Parpaluck for a good reason or two. No human in history has written more free programs than yours truly. Is that a great thing, or what? Certainly is. The only thing that is required: Paid membership for a nominal fee. It is about 10 US cents per program, per year! Keep in mind that many lottery software vendors charge hundreds of US dollars per program!
The programs in this category perform the same tasks as the other lotto software utilities: Util532, Util632, Util732.
1. Simulate data files
2. Strip off duplicates
3. Count lines in files
4. Check for winners
5. Statistical reporting (frequency, pairing, skipping, etc.)
6. Odds & random numbers generating
7. Sort or add-up data files
8. Make/break/position.
I will present a few points specific to these types of 'two-in-one' lotto '5+1' and '5+2' games: Powerball, Mega Millions, Euromillions, Thunderball, and Euromillions.
The number pairing is a hot issue. There are differences from regular lotto games.
The GRID files for Powerball/Mega Millions consist of the top 4 pairs for each regular number, plus the top pairing between a regular number and the Mega Ball;
The GRID files for Euromillions consist of the top 4 pairs for each regular number, plus the top 2 pairings between a regular number and the Star Balls.
You need to accept the defaults for the GRID files. GRID files with more regular pairings will not work properly. Only much more complex software can handle larger GRID files.
The new GRID files look like these fragments:
The new PAIRS files have a more complex composition:
Regular: 1 Hits: 8 ( 8 %)
Regular: 1 Hits: 11 ( 11 %)
The BEST, WORST, LEAST files are created for the regular numbers only. Again, that very complex lotto software only can handle the same features for the Power/Star Balls. But rest assured that the current versions of the BEST, WORST, LEAST files have a lot of eliminating power! Just take a look at what the LEAST file does.
The LEAST file (consisting of the regular-number pairings with the least frequency — more often 0) is widely used. The 'Break/Positional Limits' routines (in the Make/Break/Position module) can enable a LEAST file before generating the combinations. The eliminating power is tremendous, while the hit frequency of a LEAST-0 file is adequately frequent. You do not have software to automatically check the hit frequency of the LEAST file. You can do it manually until such software becomes available. I know…perhaps you will write your own software for that daunting but rewarding task. The page dedicated to the lottery frequency shows an easy procedure to do a manual check.
The 'Break' and 'Positional Limits' procedures work with text files, especially the systems created by SkipSystem. Please open the system files first, to make sure they have the correct format (number of lines). The same applies if you created your own systems. Very important also: The numbers in each line must be sorted in ascending order. That way, the combination generating is accurate and efficient.
The programs remind you of these requirements…
"You can have a text file consisting of exactly TWO lines: 1st with regular Powerball top numbers (in ascend); 2nd line with the top Mega Balls (in ASCENDING order). This function will break the 1st line into 5 regular numbers and break the 2nd line into one Power ball added to the 5 numbers generated by the 1st line in the input file. You can use the resulting file as a 'wheel' and play it; or you can check it for 3/4/5/6 winning numbers against your DATA-PB."
"You can have a text file consisting of exactly TWO lines: 1st with regular Euromillions top numbers (in ascend); 2nd line with the top Star Balls (in ASCENDING order). This function will break the 1st line into 5 regular numbers and break the 2nd line into 2 Star Balls added to the 5 numbers generated by the 1st line in the input file."
"You can have a RANGEPb text file with exactly 6 lines of, say, 3, 4, 3, 7, 5, 3 numbers, respectively. The first 5 lines contain the REGULAR Powerball numbers; Line #6 contains the Mega Balls. The function will create a new file of combinations of 6 numbers each by POSITIONAL ranges or limits."
“You can have a RANGEEu text file with exactly 7 lines of, say, 3, 4, 3, 7, 5, 3, 2 numbers, respectively. The first 5 lines contain the REGULAR Euromillions numbers; lines #6 and #7 contain the Star Balls. The function will create a new file of combinations of 7 numbers each by POSITIONAL ranges or limits."
The Strip Duplicates/Wheel is a very rare feature in lottery software up to this date. As you know, the randomized combination generating can output duplicate combinations. It is a probability law. This function eliminates all duplicates and leaves totally unique combinations in the output file.
The 'duplicate stripping' functions does more than that. The common (default) stripping case above considered as duplicates combinations with all numbers in common. This procedure, however, can 'duplicate strip' Powerball/Mega Millions/Euromillions combinations with '5 of 6' or '5 or 7' or '3 of 6' or '4 of 7' subgroups of common numbers.
The Statistics/Frequency module calculates the frequency of all regular numbers, plus the frequencies of all Power Balls/Mega Balls/Star Balls. The function also displays the very important parameter of skip. The skip represents the number of drawings between hits for the same number. It is the foundation of the system creation in SkipSystem.
The numbers are also tabulated in descending order, sorted by frequency. The reports look very much like the ones in FrequencyRank. The frequency ranks can be a useful tool in devising lotto systems based on frequency as described in the lottery frequency article. Keep in mind that the range of analysis (parpaluck) is of the essence. Long parpalucks are less potent in finding winning trends in a data file.
