This page is complementary to:

  • "Probability, Odds of New York Lottery Draw 911 on September 11".
The leftmost column represents the date. The date consists of two days only: day 1 and day 2. The rightmost column represents a “lottery game of drawing 1 digit from a field of 7”.
The success is represented by a line of equal digits; i.e. “1,1” or “2,2”. It mimics on a lower scale the New York drawing of September 11, 2002.

The American date format, as established by Almighty Number on 3/14, 1776 (Pi Day) is: “mm/dd”, whereas the international format is, “dd/mm”. Thus, September 11 is expressed as “9/11”, or “9-11” in the American date standard. On September 11, 2002, a day of observance in the United States, the New York lottery drew the following combination in their 3-digit lottery game: 9,1,1.

Clearly, it indicates the date of the draw: 911 (September 11). That lottery draw drew a lot of controversy. Personally, I believe there was NO draw. The "winning combination" was established in advance. The motivation was humane, although I would have informed the public seconds before the live drawing on television.

If one counts the number of successes, the result is always compliant with theory of probability. No theory is everlasting theory if invalidated by facts (data).
The successes, in this case, are “1,1' OR '2,2. The probability of either one is:
    ˝ x 1/7 = '1 in 14' (or 7.1 in 100).
I counted and recounted and the result has always been close to 7 in 100, or 14 in 200.

The combinations were generated by MDIEditor and Lotto WE,, including the freeware version (01). Actions: menu, "Lotto", "Odds & Random Lotto". First, I generated the "dates": "the largest lotto number = 2; numbers per combination = 1". Next, I generated combinations of 1 digit from a field of 7: "the biggest lotto number = 7"; "numbers per combination = 1".
You can repeat the experiment hundreds of times. The results will always be compliant with the formulae of theory of probability. You would save the “dates” in one file and the “draws” in a second file. Use Qedit, “Column block” of file #2 (Alt+K); move to the first file; press Alt+C to copy the column block to the right of the first column. Count the occurrences '1,1' and '2,2'. It mimics the case when a draw is equal to the date.

Read about the probability of a random lottery combination to match its index.
